I think this season the difference in the the top teams and bottoms teams is most pronounced. I think this is in player ratings mistakes.

The top 3 teams have 25 wins combined.

The bottom 8 teams have 23 wins combined.

The Rhinos top 3 players have scored 37 goals, with a combined player rating of 133. ( the top 3 have out scored 7 teams )

The Nanucks top 3 players have scored 12 goals, with a combined player rating of 123.

The Renegades top 3 players have scored 18 goals with a combined player rating of 141

The Nanucks have 8 players without a goal, and the renegades have 9 players with a combined total of 3 goals. The Rhinos have 3 players without a goal.

I don't think the bottom 3 teams overall cap number is anywhere close to the cap number of the the top 3 teams, although the board would say say all teams are equal. I'm saying that a team like the Haze is 20 to 30 points below that. My experience with the Renegades is that our top 3 players are not even in the same ballpark as the the Rhinos top 3. The Rhinos have twice as many goals with 8 points less in the cap rating.(top 3)

It's not the wins that concern me, but rather the goal scoring distribution in the league.

First, It's impossible to get an accurate rating on player after one 'evaluation' session.
There is always gonna be a couple new players every year that slip through and are severely underrated or overrated. They usually get a huge rating change at the end of the season and it will balance it self out the next year.

The top 3 rhino guys have all spared and played 5 or more games than everyone else so their stats are a little inflated.

Every team has 2-5 key players that score 90% of all their teams goals. That's nothing new it's always been like that with the huge disparity of player ratings.

Do they put all their top guys on defense to stop the other team from Scoring which limits their own scoring opportunities?
Do they put their big impact players on lines with other players that can't keep
Up with them?
Most teams try to even out their lines by spreading out their "pylons" with their good players.
Some teams impact players are good enough to still score with these "anchors," some are not.
If you put your 3 best players all out on the same line I bet you their stats will shoot up the leaderboard. But by going the superline strategy will also give you a plugger line... So it might not help in the team win category but it will definitely boost the goals.

The Rhinos top 3 players average over 5 points per game (goals and/or assists per game), regardless of where they play.

The bigger issue are the teams at the bottom. They need to look at the evaluation numbers at established players, who are over inflated. Regardless of your standing in the standings, your top 3 players shouldn't be out scored by other top 3 players by a big margin. One issue for the rhinos could be that the following year, when the adjustments are made ( say there top 3) gets 48 or higher ratings (154 vs 133), they end up having to implode their team.

If they play on the same line that's only 2-3 goals a game...

I will agree that the ratings are not perfect but it's the best we can come up with.

New players get rated at an evaluation and later on by Team Reps who call them out and say yes their rating is accurate or no it need to goes up/down. The more people we have out at the evaluation the more accurate their rating will be. I won't mention how many people were at the last eval as it was abissmal. Yes there will still be some that slip through the cracks but those initial rating are determined by.....well....YOU. If a player is under/over rated the Board can try to adjust it but it's only based on performance and feedback at that point.

Yes the top players on a team will get more points. Especially if they play together or with other top players when sparing. When a team plays together well and the top guys are clicking they can get on a role (Lucky for example started the season great. Then had a bad skid even with all their top players still in the line up).

Player points as well as Team Rep feedback is the best system we have. Again not perfect and it means some teams may struggle for wins if they are not scoring much.

The last thing I notice is that MANY of the teams at the bottom of the standings are not always calling spares when their players are not there. If 2 players who are rated mid 40s are out that is a HUGE portion of your cap to not replace. Top players love to get extra ice. By not replacing your missing players that's basically costing your team a goal per game. In many cases a goal a game would make the difference between middle of the pack and dead last. Even playing with 11 players makes it more difficult than if your team had 13 out there. There are tons of spares just waiting to get calls.

Just my 2 cents based on what I see on the ice and game sheets.
